  Perspective

We often talk and act as if our personal, professional, and spiritual lives are separate. We try to engage in one, then the other, as if we were changing clothes. But our growing knowledge of the interconnectedness of all things teaches us a different lesson.

Role is what one does in the world. Throughout our lives we assume multiple roles with different titles and names. Some we have inherited, others we have chosen.Chambered Nautilus

Soul is who we are at our core, stripped of title or name. We each have an inner essence from which we draw strength, gain insight, and discern what is most meaningful in life.

The chambered nautilous is a fitting symbol for Connecting Role and Soul. The organism forms its shell by moving into larger compartments as it grows, yet those compartments remain connected to earlier chambers by a tube that pierces the inner walls. Our growth is similar. The shell in which we live is a manifestation of our inner growth, a connection of role and soul.
